Mrs. Bonnie Donlon earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Literature from the University of Virginia. She taught writing at the Charlottesville Writing Center summer camps, then taught multiple subjects at The Covenant School in Charlottesville, Virginia, with Pre-K through 4th grade students, including reading and writing in the classroom and in the after school programs. Mrs. Donlon also works with her husband as a Confirmation teacher for high school students and co-teacher for the middle school religious education program at St. Thomas Aquinas parish.
Mrs. Donlon is a fantasy fiction writer, and she and her husband are currently writing a novel together that is set in a medieval, Celtic-inspired, magical high fantasy world for young adult readers.
When Mrs. Donlon’s son was born in 2018, the Charlottesville, Virginia, native realized the special joy found in being a mother -- and she is thrilled to be able to continue to fulfill her purpose as a mother while still sharing her love of teaching and writing excellence with middle school students online in the Aquinas Writing Advantage program.
When not teaching, giving feedback and grading student work, or toting around her toddler and a diaper bag filled with books, Mrs. Donlon enjoys leisurely walks, cooking, and spending time with her extended family, including her brother and sister-in-law, Mrs. Eleanor Nicholson, who is the High School Victorian Literature Instructor for Homeschool Connections.
Mrs. Donlon teaches the LIVE 6/7 Series of Middle School courses for Homeschool Connections.
