Mrs. Stanley teaches history, government, and theology.
Alison Stanley received her BA in marketing from Michigan State University and her JD from the University of Michigan Law School. She has a special love for teaching, especially American history and constitutional law.
Mrs. Stanley and her husband of fifteen-plus years have five children, all who have been homeschooled at some point in their education. Six months after her first child was born, Mrs. Stanley felt called to leave behind a thriving legal career to pursue the vocation of full-time motherhood. She never regretted the decision.
Mrs. Stanley's work before becoming a stay-at-home mother included work in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, as well as at the Honigman Miller Schwartz & Cohn Law Firm.

Student testimonials:
"Mrs. Stanley was Awesome! I used to hate history, but now it is my favorite subject!!! Thanks, Mrs. Stanley!!!"
"Every week we focused on a different subject about the Civil War and it really gave me a better understanding of what the war was actually all about. Mrs.Stanley was very helpful when I had questions or problems."
"Before this class, I hardly knew anything about Law and the Supreme Court, and now when I watch the news or read govt.-related articles, I actually understand what they are saying!"
"The homework was very difficult at times, but it always helped me to understand the subject. I liked how it wasn't just a repeat of what we learned in class, but instead forced us to think deeply and critically about what we learned to come up with an answer."
"Mrs. Stanley made classes fun and interactive. You felt as though you were in an actual classroom because she included everybody, and asked questions, and had us read slides. You were never bored. The homework was hard, but also fun and interesting. I enjoyed it a ton."
Parent testimonials:
"We have finished World War I with Alison Stanley. My son loved it!!! I found it so interesting that I even watched the videos with my son. "
"Homeschool Connections has been a total answer to prayers, with a great Catholic environment and wonderful teachers and kids."
"Mrs. Alison Stanley is an awesome teacher! I signed up for the $1 trial of Unlimited Access to take a quick look at the courses to see if it would be good for 6th grade next year. However, I came across Mrs. Stanley's course about the saints, and my kids love it! Then we saw she teaches other history courses, which we are in great need of this year, so we signed up for them too.
"Mrs. Stanley is outgoing and loves to share her Catholic faith. Both of those characteristics are extremely important. My kids get bored quite easily, and an hour is a long time to make them sit in front of the computer. Mrs. Stanley does a great job of keeping the class interesting."
