To make it easier for Parent's to decide which courses match the correct subject areas for your student we have provided a sample Scope & Sequence. If you don't know which courses to select, this document will help immensely!
Primarily, the courses are intended for middle and high school students. We have recently added grade school courses, designed to be taken alongside parents.
Also, we receive interest from adults who would like to audit our classes. Adults are welcomed to take HomeschoolConnections.com recorded, independent-learning courses through our Unlimited Access or Single Access programs. Adults are not allowed to participate in the live, interactive courses.
Courses can range from 4 to 15 weeks in a semester. Classes are typically held weekly, though some upper-level courses will meet twice a week.
Yes, courses include some kind of assignment so that students can demonstrate that the required learning has taken place to their parents. Course assignments can vary depending upon the course and instructor. Assignments may include automated quizzes (graded by the computer), semester-long projects, research papers, short essays, or a variety of other assessments.
It depends upon the course and instructor requirements. Many of our courses use free online resources that are easily accessible. Books for literature courses can be borrowed from the public library. Other courses may require the purchase a textbook or lab materials.
Because of schedule changes some people may find they have to drop a course. We will refund:
95% of the course fee for cancellations made up to one month before the first day of class.
85% up to two weeks before the first class.
75% after the two week mark before the course starts through the day before the third week of classes.
Written notification is required before the deadline. For example: If the first day of a course which meets once a week is September 20:
The last day eligible for the 95% refund would be August 20
The last day eligible for the 85% refund would be September 6
The first day eligible for the 75% refund would be September 7 and the last day would be October 3.
Because our courses are already priced to be affordable, it is rare that we offer coupons. However, we'll sometimes offer specials. Join our email list and/or Facebook parent group to keep up to date.
