Shakespeare and Christianity
An Essay Contest for High School Juniors and Seniors
On Saturday, April 23rd, the four hundredth anniversary of Shakespeare's death, the Center for Faith and Culture at Aquinas College will be holding its second annual "Shakespeare Celebration" on its campus in Nashville, Tennessee.
As part of this celebration we are announcing an essay contest for high school juniors and seniors, the winner of which will be flown to the Celebration in Nashville to receive the “Shakespeare & Christianity Essay Award” and to read the winning essay to those attending the Celebration. Homeschool Connections has generously provided a $500 cash prize.
Guidelines Essays should be no longer than 3,000 words in length and can be on any play or Shakespearean theme within the general parameters of “Shakespeare and Christianity.”
Deadline for receipt of the essays will be March 1, 2016. Essays should be e-mailed to email@example.com.
The essays will be judged by the literature faculty at Aquinas College.
The honoree should be available to travel to Nashville for the Celebration on April 23 to present their essay and receive the Award. All travel and accommodation costs will be paid by the Center for Faith and Culture.
